Haha, yep. Well in Hawaii where this is from...theres been a LOT of copper thefts. Street light wiring, gutters, etc. I think they caught a few people who were doing it and it stopped - for a while. Then it started back up but hopefully this will make the idiots stop. I think they did like a good couple hundred thou worth for cost of material and reinstallation/fixing what they broke.

That's why they didn't arrest him. If they arrest him, the state pays. If he has health insurance right now, the insurance company pays. Most likely he doesn't have health insurance though so the hospital may be eating that one.
