Alnertatives to iPhone?
I thought there was a thread about this a few months ago but I couldn't find it. I've dropped my Blackberry one time too many and I need to get a new phone. I was thinking about the iPhone but it's made in China and I don't want to buy a product made in China. It's bad enough that the Blackberry is made in Mexico but at least it's not China. What else out there is better than the Blackberry but isn't made in China?
nothing is better than blackberry!!
i have verizon's new bold coming; supposedly all is fixed @ last!!

Lol at Lackberry.
I think the latest hotness on the Android side is the Samsung Galaxy that is coming out for the holidays. Haven't heard much on the Windows phones but they may be worth a look.
Also, fwiw, made in China is not exactly the same as assembled in China. I think something like 80-90% of an iPhone is made elsewhere (USA, Germany, etc) and shipped to China for final assembly.

According to this, the inner parts are made in Korea (I hope they mean South Korea) but the case is made in China, by Foxcomm and "assembled in China" is way too close to "made in China", at least for me.
Get another Blackberry. Here's why:
1. The assembly point is important to you.
2. There is a cost of integration for droid and iPhone, and you may not want to incur those charges right now.
3. Despite RIM being a punching bag, they should still be around for a bit longer. Long enough at least for you to get real use out of the device.

You want an American cell phone? Lulz. Canadian-Mexican is the best you get, in terms of proximity to the USA. I can't get a good reading if Motorola phones are mostly 'made' in England, S. Korea or China. Sony-Erricson comes from India. HTC's come from Taiwan (which is a different beast from China, but...). Nokia phones are made all over, god knows where. I'm 99% sure Samsungs/LG's are S.Korea/China/Taiwan.
