Incident #1

So I'm walking my dog last night and this girl is walking hers. We both release our dogs and they start to play. The gal and I walk closer to each other and we chit chat a bit about our dogs. She then says "Yeah my boyfriend thinks Herby (her dog) is so energetic!"

Incident #2

I'm at Century Cinemas in L.A. and waiting in line to get tickets to 'Van Helsing' I ask the gal in front if this might be a good movie. We're pretty chatty and then somewhere in the conversation... "My boyfriend just loves X-men!"

Incident #3

I'm at Nordstroms getting fitted for shoes. The lady who's helping me and I are talking about different leathers etc. She then busts out... "My husband thinks wing tips are too old!"

Incident #4

I'm at 24HR Fitness and talking to this lady who's like a trainer. I ask her about vitamin shakes and BAM she goes into protein shakes her boyfriend likes!!! WTF!?

So let me ask you this, ever have a decent conversation with someone and half way into the conversation they introduce the fact that they have a significant other? Why do they do that? Do they really think we're trying to pick up on them or is it just me being too sensitive???

You're just a nice guy Ev.

I've had a few instances like that, as usual it just goes in one ear and out the other... If the girl looks good, I'll ask for her number anyways.

Yup. They tell you one thing and do another, that's the funny thing. I find this hilarious.

Ev, nah... it's just that most women use it as a defense mechanism, they just don't hear themselves and how stupid it sounds to a stranger......the LAST thing I would discuss with a strange women is what my "girlfriend " likes or dislikes! men are just different... we are just dogs ....
