Amazing undergrad project
check out this video of a robot that can solve a rubiks cube. I'm astonished -and a bit ashamed- that this was done in 300 level undergrad course

Not to undermine this project, but this has been done before using LEGO's robotics
kit - Lego Mindstorms.

I have used Mindstorms kits before and they're a great way to get into robotics because the kit includes an easy user interface, easy programming language, ready made sensors, motors .. etc all ready standardized, callibrated and ready to be connected.
What I really liked about the video is that the entire thing seems to be built from scrach and controlled by an embedded controller which has the solving algorithm plus connectivity to motors and sensors. So kudos for the student who managed to all of this during a certain timeline and while taking other courses

NUR,
I also have two kits. Nice to see someone else doing the same stuff here. I Dont get much time to play with it these days though
I never used the programming language came with it. Started with NQC
and went to C.
The new set is coming this fall. Are you going to buy it?
