the best singers get cut in the last 3-4 weeks

the "best singer" has not won AI since Kelly Klarkson (<---sp sux). The rest of the seasons have had the best singers cut well before the finale

 

I wouldn't know, I don't watch the show I've just seen pics

 

True dat but it doesn't really matter who wins. the top 6, 4 and 2 provide good entertainment and as long as you TiVo the show and blow past the massive blocks of advertising it's good value for money. There aren't that many musical shows on mainstream TV (or even MTV for that matter).
