with the number of voters, etc.... I don't think it is "played out" yet! They will keep on doing it as long as people keep watching.....just like Survivor....survivor 9 has already been taped i think.
Wonder how much $ Fox made off of this past American Idol?
I like the idea that it gives "nobody's" a chance to be stars. It takes a hell of a lot of work and time to actually make it in hollywood if you are not a family memmber (unlike charlie sheen, Matthew Perry, whatever Meg Ryan's daughters name is, the Baldwins, etc...)
Not sure what Fantasia's background is, but I would imagine she would have continued life as a nobody (i am referring to myself as a nobody also, so don't read into this) who had next to nothing except for a great voice that she used in her church choir.
