Default annoying phone messages

why can't someone leave a message if they're going to hang around and say anything at all by the time of the beep? all I got this morning was a "hello? hello?" and then they hung up. wtf?!?!?!? It's better to just hang up once you hear the message starting.

Why can't people leave messages, period!?! I know people (some very, very close to me) who tell me, "well I called you about 3 times, where were you?" And I'm like ... "did you leave a message? How was I supposed to know you called me?" Especially if they have Caller ID blocking and it won't register on your cell phone.

Some otherwise nice, ordinary people seem to be allergic to leaving messages, paging, etc.

People who don't leave messages are infinitly better people than those who leave hour long messages!

My mom refuses to leave a message so, even when I know she's called, I refuse to call her back

Good point. I guess it's kind of like people who could post a pointless, yet short, comment such as "good point," but instead start rambling on about all kinds of things. They start to explain that they would really rather be talking to you in person, but since you aren't with them right now, you'll just have to read about whatever they want you to know. For example, did you know that with the AT&T cell service you can download all kinds of ring tones? Well, I didn't know this until just awhile ago. So I thought I would go take a look at all the different ring tones. Well let me tell you, that resulted in about 1/2 an hour just listening to a bunch of dumb ring tone songs! And I could have be posting some short, to the point, posts on s2ki.com threads. But no! I was listening to Britney Spears and classical music ring tones. I don't even like either one - why was I listening? I don't know. I guess it's kind of like people who leave really long messages, they don't know why, it's just an uncontrollable urge.

it bothers me a bit when people call and say "hey, giemme a call back at xxx-xxxx" on my cell phone's voicemail... they could've used the phone-number-paging feature....

I don't leave many messages mainly because I want to garuntee they got the message I was trying to give and to make sure they understand it.

1. With cell phones these days you never know if the person got it or if it was all garbled up.
2. I also hate it when you leave a message and they don't call back. If I leave a message and don't get a call back I will never call that person again util they call me back first.
3. Sometimes people have roommates who don't pass along messages.

maybe it was a solicitor calling. I get calls from solicitors all day and they never leave messages.
