Was laid off on 27 Apr at 10:00, accepted a new job at 2:00 the same day. I saw it coming, but I am not sure that I like the new job. But it is a job.

I'm working....I voted, but also wanted to add that I was also offered (and accepted) a new position with my client company with a substantial raise, sign on, and very good benefits (although not the caliber at which I'm use to in the consultancy field, but very good none the less).....oh, and substancial discounts on the company products.

I'm not trying to gloat, I just want to give some hope that some local economies haven't been hit as badly as the news media makes out.
