Default any dentists on here

My roommate accidentaly hit me in my face with his knee last night. It cracked my top front tooth. When he looked at it he didnt see anything wrong with it. When i looked at it closely i found a hairline crack that went across the tooth horizontaly. I can only see it under the light when i angle the tooth a certain way. It hurts whenever i put pressure on it, but its not temprature sensative. Do i need to go to a dentist or will it heal by itself?
Thanks
Fadi

I am under the impression that teeth do not heal. They do not grow except when they are forming under the gum line. This is why cavities cannot heal themselves.

If you tooth is cracked, you will have a cracked tooth until the dentist fixes it. That being said, I would get it checked out just to be safe that you do not break it off, then your tooth will surely hurt in every situation.

I'm no dentist, but I would definitely go see one or an orthodontist. A little too much pressure or another minor hit (even eating something hard) and everyone will start calling you snaggletooth.

Cracked teeth don't heal. I cracked my front top tooth right at the gumline and needed a root canal, post, and a fake tooth. If you have ever wanted a gold toof, this is the time.

I suggest you to go see a dentist ASAP before the crack expands.

it can only get worse from there. teeth do not heal themselves. it's just like your hair or fingernails. except your tooth wont grow out and be replaced with a new one.

even if you dont have dental insurance, go see one. again, it'll only get worse if you dont fix it now.
i put off going to the dentist when my k9(?) tooth got a small hole in it. after a while (years) it cracked. after that (months) it started to break apart.
i was told by a nurse that it i should get it lookked at ASAP because if it's infected, the infection doesnt need much time to move up to the brain.
if she was just trying to scare me into going to the dentist, she was sucesefull.

i went to the dentist and ended up having 2 root canals performed AND had to pay out of pocket.
