any experience with Ryan Homes (NVR)?
Hey all,
I have an interview on wednesday of this week with Ryan Homes for a production supervisor position. I just want to know of any experiences from customers and employees. If this is a lousy company I don't want to work there, but I obviously can't expect an unbiased opinion from them.
Let me hear both good and bad stories.
Thanks,
Kris

hahahaha.. excellent!!! i have to post!!
i recently puchased a townhouse from ryan homes. I signed the contract 1/15/04. The house was promised to be finished 9/04 it was pushed to 2/05 and finally may/13/05 i signed my papers and it was finished.
it took them 1 year, 4 months to build a townhouse... when they said that they could build one in 57 days. After i moved in, a few problems.
1. the dish washer was never connected. -service call to GE fixed that
2. wiring was all wrong. one light swiched controlled two things, another didn't do anything
3. bathroom door hits toilet
4. no towel rack in the bathrooms, but in the master bathroom, where it has a separate bathroom, they installed a towel rack, but it is behind the door. so basically, you have to go into the bathroom to get your towels.
5. window frames did not line up, off by a few cm.
6. outside light, has a photocell, that was defective
7. the garage was made so a standard garage door opener can not work. the tracks are too short, and the standard openers end up being too long
that being said, the people that i have delt with have been wonderful. i suspect the customer service has to be #1 since the quality sucks!...
i designer on this board, warned me about Ryan homes and the lack of quality but i didn't listen to her... i should have....
as far as working for them, it is a great company, they build tons of houses here in my area. other people seem to like it... but yeah, mass produced homes, is not going to be my cup of tea anymore.
