I'd actually avoid Rachel Ray books until you're cooking for a lot of people on a regular basis. . . I don't think she does an adequate explanation of techniques, or the reasons behind them.

. . . that, and yeah, I'd take a baseball bat to her throat if Anthony Bourdain left me anything to work with.
