any ipod owners??
I guess i'll add my opinion in since I just recently got a 30gb 3rd gen iPod.
I really like it! iTunes being released for PC has also made my iPod that much more enjoyable.
My one complaint is the ear buds. I think my ears just aren't shaped right for them, but they are really uncomfortable and fell out while I was jogging. I got new sony headphones so problem solved.
I have never had it skip on me, and the only time I had to reset it, I wasn't even moving. The battery life is pretty good for me so I guess I got a good apple.
I guess the only thing deterring me from recommending the iPod to everyone is the cost. This is a really expensive discman. If you have the money, go for it! you'll like it.
I have a question for those of you who said you listen to it in the car. what device are you using to play it through the speakers? The only one i've seen (since I don't have a tape player) is the belkin FM transmitter thing. Is this what you are using? I've had my eye on it for a while but would like to hear from someone who has tried it as to the quality of the sound and use. Thanks!

I have the older fm transmitter...it's kinda lame. only lets you pick 4 frequencies, and around here there's a lot of bottom-of-the-band radio so in some areas i have trouble. However, last time i had an FM xmitter for a discman (old car) it had a dial to pick any frequency but the dial kept rotating out of tune whenever i hit a bump! hit and miss with these things, but as long as the batteries are good in the xmitter it sounds fine. if I had studio monitors in my car it might be a different story.

My Sony CD deck has RCA inputs for the CD changer on the back that I got an adapter to hook up my iPod to. I bought the Belkin car adapter that plugs into the port on the bottom of the iPod and gives it power and also gets a line out signal that you can tap into and use as an input for the stereo. MUCH better fidelity than you can get through any FM adapter and I also don't have to worry about interference from new stations on a road trip. Some stereos have a line in that you can use with the Belkin without having to get a separate adapter.
