Default Any Kevin Smith fans?

I just got back from watching Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back!
It is hands down the funniest movie I have ever seen, Laughing form beginning to end, I probably missed half the movie. It's even better if you have seen his previous movies.
Go see it if you haven't!

Haven't seen it yet, plan on it the middle of this week. Yeah I'm a fan, have been since Mallrats came out. When Clerks came out I never went to see it, not sure why. I think I was in high school at the time...

Clerks is one of my all time favorites and have loved everything he's done up to and incl. Dogma but "Jay & Silent Bob" just smacked of sell-out. Too many inside jokes and I cringed everytime they all turned to the camera as if to include us in the joke. While there were some funny moments the reliance on gay bashing humor was disgusting and below Smith's talents as a screenwriter and filmmaker.

Jason Mewes is not an actor and shouldn't be expected to carry a film. God knows that no-talent Will Ferrell can't.

With all the cameos there were bound to be some bright spots and Chris Rock ruled again.

I now feel like one of the little punks who rued the day "Bluntman and Chronic" went into production.

BTW--Did anyone stick around thru the credits to see Alannis Morrisette reprise her role as God? Did anyone get the OZ humor during the filming of Good Will Hunting 2?

I guess I need to go see this!!! I loved CLERKS, and when i ask anyone if they have seen it, they all go blank...????

That part where he is ordering those porno's right in front of that little girl....ahahhaa....

Even our local movie review wench gave the new movie a "superior", which would normally means it SUCKS, as she doesn't like anything funny....

Thanks for the tip, i will attempt to find some time.

Scot

As a former North-easterner, I love the fact that an incredibly talented film maker came out of Jersey, and still lives there (no offense to any NJ people out there). Kevin Smith has got to be the greatest writer of dialogue I have ever seen.

However, JSBSB managed to do only one thing - explain how Jay & Silent Bob wound up with a monkey at the end of Chasing Amy. Other than that, I certainly enjoyed the 4 chicks in leather.

haha.. better watch out they might show up at your door.. that was hilarous when they were going door to door beating up internet kids.

but the movie didn't seem as good and precise as all the other Kevin Smith films.. it seems like one of those movies you'll have to watch a few times to catch everything out of the jokes that are constantly rambled

i missed the damn last scene w/ Alanis Morrisette.. doh

I'm a huge kevin smith fan....and best of all is the fact that he's from Jersey....i get a lot more inside jokes about the state and the local areas around there....even got to visit Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash comic book store...and Steve Dave was working behind the counter.

Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back rocked....definately hilarious but not the funniest movie i've ever seen...There's something about mary is by far the funniest movie i've ever seen and with Kevin Smith movies you have to have seen the others in order to get all the jokes while with there's something about mary you don't have to...but it was a great flick and i think i'm going to see it again in the theaters one more time...even bought the soundtrack just to support kevin smith and to get Jay's Rap 2001....that shit is funny as hell.

While humour is purely subjective, I've got the image of Jay and Bob, rolling around the parking lot in my head, And I'm still laughing this morning!
The thing I like is Kevin Smith shows you don't have to have a huge budget to make a great movie, Clerks was dirt ass cheap, and even JSBSB was only done for 15 mill.

Good flick. I thought it was good Kevin Smith, but certainly not the best movie I'd ever seen.. probably not even the best Kevin Smith movie... Hard to beat out Chasing Amy.

Love the chicks in leather...esp. when Ali Larter rips a monster... Did you know the girl who drove the van is Smith's wife? Not bad for a big fat guy from Red Bank (my birthplace, BTW)

Mark Hamill was great as the Cock Knocker...
