Any Personal Trainers here?
Guys, I just joined a gym and want a body like Bruce Lee's
and was wondering how to get there in a healthy manner. The personal trainers at the the gym charge around $70/hr. for this type of advice
. Was just looking for a few pointers to get me started as far as exercises, free weights vs. machines, etc.

I'm not a personal trainer but I have some knowledge on this. Are you trying to get toned up and "cut" or big "swoll"
. What muscle groups are you trying to enhance/strengthen? If you can find someone really friendly at the gym they could give you pointers as well, it's easier to show you by examples then by words. Stance, breathing, and form also improve or cancel your workout. Type of diet also helps.

First of all, you only really need the gym for maybe 30 minutes/day, 5 days/week. Divide up your workout each time, such as legs and back on one day, then chest, shoulders and triceps the next and alternate. Do not perform more than about 50 high-intensity contractions (reps) per muscle. You can perform multiple sets of exercises while another muscle group rests for a couple of minutes.
Most importantly, is to examine your diet. You should cut out all partially hydrogenated oils. It is poison for your body and may be linked to all kinds of diseases and the prevalence of obesity in the US. You will be surprized on just how many of our food products it is in. Also, try eating more wholesome foods (like organic) that are antibiotic-free, pesticide-free, and hormone-free. Don't starve yourself, but you may need to cut your Kcals by a bit, but don't reduce by more than 1000 Kcals/day.
Lastly, engage in a regular walking/running program. Go to a specialty athletic shoe store (not in the mall) and have them examine your gait. They are usually pretty knowledgable about the type of running shoe for you. There is almost nothing better, nor more convenient, than walking out the front and running a few miles.
Most importantly..... BE PATIENT and DON'T LOSE FOCUS!!!!!!!!!!

Supps are quite amazing but aren't necessary. Using supps won't just make you big swoll one day, only using them with dieting and excersize will you see results. If you're goal is to get really cut, then your motto should be repetition repetition repetition. I'd work out a specific muscle group with 4 sets of 10 repetitions. As for what machines or work-outs to do for abs/chest/arms there are many available, check out whats offered at your gym. The typical ones for abs are crunches/sit-ups, there should be machines that allow you to add weight for progressive resistance. The bench press, incline bench press, decline bench press and military press (dumbells) should work out your chest. Bi-cep curls with a curl bar or dumbells should work out your bi-ceps. This is just scratching the surface, try searching around the internet for fitness sites. They can show you how to do those excersizes with proper form and stance. Breathing is another thing that I find enhances the work out exprience a lot. Many weight lifters disregard breathing patterns that make them fatigued and tired at the end of the workout. Quick rule of thumb is breath in while exerting force and breath out while relaxing. It's kinda awkward/weird when you're new to it but you'll get adjusted to it. PM me if you want more info. Hope that helped a little.
Bad boy is correct about isolating certain muscle groups and working them out a certain day rather than 50 intense workouts at once. He also made a very good point about being paitent, it takes time and dedication to reach your goal. Ohh yea one more thing, I'd pick up a pair of good work-out gloves to REDUCE the amount of callists (spelling) you'll be getting, look for one with wrist supports to help you keep your wrist straight while working out.
