Default Any tips for traveling?

so im leaving for korea tomorrow night. im only going for a week so i'd like to get away with just taking a duffelbag and taking it onboard the plane as carry on. after 9/11..ive heard that you cant take basic toiletries on your carry on such as shampoo, soaps, mouthwash, contact lens solution, etc which would prevent me from taking only one piece of luggage. any ideas? comments? suggestions?

You cant take any liquid/gel over 3 ounces, and all of those 3 ounce containers must fit in a 1 quart plastic ziplock bag.

http://www.tsa.gov/311/index.shtm

When I recently flew with only a carry-on my 4 oz toothpaste got through (I didnt know the 3oz rule prior to packing.)

You could always buy small amounts of the liquids you need once you get there, or try to find 3oz containers and transfer them to those containers prior.

Fwiw, in real world exp, you can take up to the 3.25 deodorants without issue - as long as its in that quart-size sealable bag and you pull it out when you go through security, its not an issue.

On the plane we only bring magazines, I Pod , good quality headphones, pair of shorts /t shirt. Everything else can be purchased when you arrive.

Plan B,box your crap up ship it overnight to the hotel, rebox ship it home. No hassles at security, you don't have to lug bags around like a homeless ba$tard or like the great unwashed at the airport.

It's all about convienence.
