Shower and toilet won't drain, except extremely slowly. I never tried to snake a toilet before, and I have discovered that you can't without some "disassembly." The shower is going to require a little "disassembly," too, to get a snake down there. I'll have to look at it some more.

More worst case scenario is that all the drains are blocked due to something like tree roots invading the main exit to the sewage system. Can't tell that yet for sure.

Any advice?

Thanks.

sounds like the main line is clogged.you definitely need a plumber.

depending on how old your home is it could just be "old" and need a flush due to some buildup of gunk/hair.

Phone Chuck Barrett at KC's 23-1/2 Hour Plumbing: (888)527-2312. He's in Orange - not all that close to North Hollywood - but if he can't do it economically he may be able to recommend someone closer; you won't find a more honest plumber anywhere.

Tell him his favorite magician referred you to him.

Thanks to all.

magician, I called Chuck on Sunday. They said he'd get back. He never did. So, I went with a company in Van Nuys.

i know of a awesome pipe cleaner in the san fernando valley. she can clean your pipes in under 5 minutes. jk

but umm, if you think your main line is blocked you can use one of those blow up bladder things that you connect to a hose and stick in your mainline. it shoots out pressurized water through out the whole system. usually does the trick. u can find it at most hardward stores and they will know what you are talking about, if you give them my description.
