Yep. I'm in very good shape, appearance wise also, but since I have lots of size and I'm short, some people at first glance think I'm chubby.

When you guys squat, do you squat all the way down to quads parallel to the ground? I use to rep close to 300lbs in high school doing this, but 6 years down the line I have trouble putting up 135lbs 3x10 reps. I can do more if I cheat and not go so low. My quads still look big though!

Was raised in a gym. My dad was (still is) a BB and PT...later on bought his own gym. For both my brother and I, it was a family thing and we were expected to be at the gym almost everyday, lifting with dad.

Now I go about 3-4 times per week but when I was really balls-to-wall I had a 6 day split. It is the only "sport" that I was any good at so I just went with it.

My large frame (6'2" 240) used to be a great asset until I hit 30. Now I need to incorporate more cardio (row, stepper, elliptical, pick-up basketball) than ever before to keep the weight in my thighs and chest and away from my gut!

I am very impressed at how strong you guys are! I always like to use the bodyweight test.... #reps at bodyweight bench/squat. Most avg american men cannot bench or squat their body weight.

A great reference is Arnold Schwarzenegger's "Encyclopedia of BB". Diet, technique, and lifestyle for success all in one BIG fat book.

The stuff you guys do requires everyday overall strength and most importantly muscle endurance. That's something hard to train for.

I work out virtually 7 days a week in some form or another...

Run 2-3 times a week, cycle 2-3 times a week and lift 3 days per week. (Some days are double's) I lift heavy for my upper body, but not lower, don't want to blow out my knees for the aerobic stuff which I find to be more fun.

I weigh about 190 at 5'10 and can bench well over 300...

A bunch of friends got me into lifting in college, (2 especially) they were both my height and weight, could bench 315 on the incline for sets of 8 and then squat 500 for sets of 10...needless to say they got me into it harcore and I have never stopped.

I've got a question for some of you strong arms out there. I have been in competition sports for almost all my life. I was training to be a professional tennis player for many years. Going to the gym regularily to improve endurance and strength was common place for me, but since then I have developed "bad shoulders" and am now limited as to how fast I can increase the intesity of my workouts. I have since then also gone back to school and have not visited the gym at all or played any sports for 6 months (I feel like a slob). I certainly don't look like I'm out of shape, but I feel like I am, so my question to you guys is what is the fastest way I can rebuild strength without putting too much stress on my shoulders?

I should also mention that I had therapy on my sholders and they are much better than before, but I sill have to be careful with them. Things like dips are a no no for me, and now that I'm no longer persueing a tennis career, staying light and small is not so much of a concern. I don't want to be huge, just of good medium size. Thanks in advance for the help.
