my mom keeps koi... but i don't think she keeps track of the different types. i didn't even know they HAD different types. her koi pond takes up half her yard though... i call it her "lake." haha... our shih tzu puppy felt in it a couple times.

Awesome! My wife and I bought about 10 koi (don't know what kind they were - not as pretty as yours) for her mother - her "gardener" accidentally killed all of them after having had them for about 6 years.

That sucks,.. my landscaper is not allowed to use any chemicals in the back (where the pond is) its all too common for them to be the culpret of koi death.

I read a couple months back about some celeb (don't remember) had over a million dollars invested in koi and the landscaper accidentally killed them off,.. I'll try to find the details.

Wow! Sure beats my 12 gallon tank!

Very pretty koi too. Great color on those 2.

well my mum's isn't as nice as yours. not too sure how many gallons it is. but i do know that when she had the guy come to dig it out, it was at least 5 or 6 ft. deep. my parents bought one of those track homes in surburbia so they don't have a very big yard. her pond at our other house was much more impressive but she's working on it...

this was when she first put it in... she did all the concrete and rock after this, and it has a really nice waterfall now, more plants. i just think it's cute cause she's this tiny lady but she put this huge pond together all by herself (minus the digging part). she grows amazing orchids too... they're all over the house.
