Default Anyone ever have problems with hardtopguy?

Back in June I ordered new brake pads, oil filter, hard-top strikers, and floor mat anchors. Well, everything showed up except the floor mat anchors. So I email him to let him know and he says sure no prob I'll send them right out. They never showed up and he hasn't replied to an email since.

I've read nothing but good things about him on the site so I'm a bit shocked about the bs that he pulled. I know its just a $5 part but it's the principle. Has anyone ever had a bad experience with him?

How long between his initial reply stating he will send them out, and your recent emails?

He is a busy guy and the site isn't his life. Sometimes it takes a little for him to respond. I wouldn't worry about it. Have a little patience, because I'm certain he will not try to screw you.

Well, my initial order was in the beginning of June. I emailed him immediately after receiving the package that was missing the part. He replied immediately and said no prob he will send the part right out. He even realized he forgot to include the part I ordered because at the time of my order he was out of stock so he remembered my order because it took longer than expected. I waited about 3 weeks for the part to show up and still no part. So after 3 weeks I send another email, no response. The last email I sent was about 2 weeks ago--no response.

All emails sent to him were totally cool and mellow, nothing abrasive or obnoxious.

Fair enough to look into it. There was some stuff going on in his family life that was posted around the site in the past couple of months, it's pretty serious stuff so it sounds like it's still affecting timing of communications and orders.

In your shoes I'd probably continue to follow-up every week to just "check-in." In the end you did buy something and haven't received it, nor can you reach the person who was supposed to send it. If this were an Ebay purchase then you'd be yanking back payment and a lot harsher in your pursuit, I suspect.

I'd stick patient as long as you can but a little persistence is warranted in my opinion.

My experience with Hardtopguy have always been above and beyond the call of professionalism. He's a class act.

I hear nothing but good things regarding Hardtopguy but at the same time I see 1 post a month about how its been 2-3 months and they dont yet have what was ordered. Not really sure what to think of this...

Jeff's a great guy and would never intentionally hold back from a customer. I would just email him again and ask for an update. It's very possible it slipped through the cracks again.

i understand everyone vouches for the guy and he seems nice. bottom line though, people want the stuff they ordered and there have been several posts just like this one relatively recently. i wouldn't be too happy.

i guess the best you can do now is try to contact him about it.
