Default Anyone flew with Eva air airline recently?

Hi everyone,

As i'm packing right now for tomorrow fly to Asia. I'm not sure if they will weight the "Free carry-on items" According to their website it didn't say anything about weight. I really want to take camera gears with me, but still not sure.

Hand-carry baggage

Hand-carry baggage is permitted in the aircraft cabin only if it is safely stowed in the closed overhead bin, closet or under your seat. Every passenger is allowed one hand-carry baggage weighing 7 kg/15 lb. or less and no more than 23 cm x 36 cm x 56 cm in dimension or 115 cm/45 in. overall. However, this maximum dimension is subject to aircraft type. For your convenience, a measurement Test Unit is available at either the check-in counter or boarding lounge to help you to determine whether your baggage meets these requirements. If the hand-carry baggage is overweight or oversized, it will be checked and carried in the cargo hold or refused carriage.

Please note that:
1. Hand-carry baggage stowed under passenger seat is fitted in means to prevent it from sliding sideward or forward into the aisle.
2. Hand-carry baggage does not obstruct passenger movement to, from, or accross the aisle.
3. Hand-carry baggage sotwed in overhead bins fit securely, and flight attendants can close the bins without using force.
4. Little or no chance for hand-carry baggage and other articles falling out of overhead bins when bins doors are opened.

Free carry-on items

In addition to the hand-carry baggage, every passenger may carry, without additional charge, the following free carry-on items:
1. One piece of laptop or purse or small backpack or briefcase or camera case.
2. Reasonable quantity of coat, hat, scarf, shopping bag, food, drink and other personal belongings.

Above items should be safely stowed in the closed overhead bin, closet or under your seat. If you put your free carry-on item in the seat pocket, it should be within the vertical line from the seat back and under no circumstances can it protract into the aisle.

Unless it looks way overweight most airlines do not weigh carry on baggage. Flex your muscle and throw it around like there's no weight to it if you are over and they'll think it's nice and light

Ugggh, I hate EVA. I used to fly from SF to Taiwan all the time in their 737. In the economy section, 6 rows of seats share 2 15" TVs, one on each aisle. There's no screen in the middle. The business class has SNES games including Vegas casino and mahjong. China and Singapore Airlines ftw.

i hate Eva airlines, too. The seat is way too small and the people on the plane smelled like douche. I had to endure this horrible experience for 16 hours flying to Taiwan. Their TV sucks. Nothing worse than watching a bootleg Pirates of Caribean with a line running through the middle of the screen for 16 hours.

Every time I flew on Eva, Asiana, etc., I'd have a hard-on. Those flight attendants are

P.S. You can find out about each airline's luggage policy on their sites.

I've NEVER seen them ever weigh the carry-ons, and I work in the industry. I have packed ridiculously heavy things in the carry-ons and have never had a problem. The only "problem" you'll have is it can't be so heavy that you can't lift it into an overhead bin. If you're leaving from asia though, YMMV.

My other advice to you is to get checked in early and get in line for boarding early. Sometimes, the bins get packed, and if you are one of the last to get on, there might not be any space, so they have to check the luggage into the belly of the airplane.

That must have been a VERY special 737 as all the other 737s only have a range of about 5 hours before they fall in the ocean I think you meant 747

I don't think the OP will have this problem if he is flying out of LAX as Eva flies their newest 777s into LAX, so it should have nice A/V on the bird.

they have never weighed my carry-ons either

EVA is using the 777's for long distance hauls so you get ur own personal tv with on-deman music/tv/movie etc

Economy seats suck on ANY airline....they weren't designed for grown humans.

whoops. You're right. I was thinking about the Southwest flights I take. Yeah, regardless, the SF to Taiwan EVA 747 flights suck. It'd be best to take a sleeping pill and wake up at your destination.
