Anyone have Visian ICL?
I am considering to get my eyes done while I am still young and my eye doctor has told me great things about this process. It's (supposedly) better quality than Lasik and I got quoted for $6000 for both eyes. Does anyone have any experiences with this process, and how much did you pay for it?
wow i never heard of this process....
just saw some clip of it

I had heard of this and I was told that it was basically like implanting a contact lens. You can get a much better prescription match than you can get with the Lasik (I have had it 3 times and my vision is worse than when I started) BUT as your vision changes you have to go back in to change your prescription. That's how it was explained to me by a doctor.
If you are going that far why not just replace the lens? That can get rid of presbyopia as well.

Wow.. great find with that video. I already knew the process but now I have the details. It looks very scary! Amazingly, this whole process only takes 10 - 15 minutes.
Most sites are quoting $3,500 to $4,000 per eye for it so I'm guessing that I am getting a good deal with 6k for both eyes. Oh, and the doctor is well-respected in this field so I'm not afraid of their quality.

Unfortunately, my cornea thickness is not enough for my prescription so Lasik is out of the question for me. But I will be getting Lasik done for my astigmatism.(which is included in the price!) What exactly do you mean by replacing the lens?
i am also unable to get lasik, due to some steepness thing...where they say i would be prone to a condition called ectasia. i wonder if this would be any different? i hate glasses and contacts -- though i did get these new silicon high 02 permeable lens, which seem to be much better.

Be very careful on that correcting the astigmatism aspect. That's what I have tried to do 3 times and all they do is CHANGE my astigmatism. It is worse now than it was before the procedure.
They can change power easily but that doesn't mean you'll really see better, just different.
