I don't think Middle Easterns like Americans very much.

Everybody gets along with Canada, and I grew up not that far away.

You can always do what I did. If someone came up to me in an unfriendly place and asked if I am American, I say, "No, I'm Canadian, ya betcha!".

Everybody gets along with Canada, and I grew up not that far away.It used to crack us up as kids when American tourists would tell us "Yeah, Ah'm Irish, fer sure". Um yeah, ok...
If you are ....in scot's terms... "a cracka," then dont bother dressing up. Not only will you not blend in, but you might actually insult them. I personally, wouldnt go to that part of the world for now....they are not friendly places to Americans. Other's will tell you otherwise, but its your life....gamble as you see fit.
I was in Bahrain for 6 months. We had a flight into Saudi over night and the bird broke down so we were there for a week. If you are ever in a neighborhood with Black flags get the F out of there. That is anti-anything other than muslim town.

Everybody gets along with Canada,
I'd been there a couple years back... if you plan on having a good time, make friends with someone who's been there for a while... there are many "underground" places where you can party. Just like mentioned earlier, there is a difference b/w whats said and what really happens. Saudi is pretty strict if they think you're arab, otherwise theyre more lineant (s/p?) on americans... wearing a nice dress shirt and slacks is the way to go, btw

My bad
