Default Is anyone here A+ Certified?

I'm studying for it right now, almost done.

Is the test hard if you study from A+ for Dummies?

I just want to know the difficulty of the test.

Thanks.

Cheers,

Bryan

I walked in hungover with out studying and snagged 98% on both parts. I showed up the next day for the Networking+ in worse shape. Networking+ is a breeze if you have basic knowledge of protocols. Co-workers have commented that the Dummies Book isn't so hot, but the Exam Cram series is. Unfortunatly, the books are formatted not for learning fundamentals but simply passing the test.

Good Luck.

it's easy as hell. no kidding. those fat study guides teach you way more than you need to know. but if you're looking to get a job or something out of it, know the book. i took it a few years ago so i'm sure it's updated a bit, but really, it's not hard. i have a few books laying around if you want to pay half price or something. yes, they're newer updated ones.

I have a whole bunch of certs, 20+ exams, never failed. They are easy if you've worked on the stuff. It will be harder if you are trying to get the cert without having much experience (you'll have to study and memorize more, which is harder than knowing from experience). I have a complex about the "dummies" series, never looked in one, guess I'm too vein. I've had good luck with the Cybex books for MS and others. good luck!

WTF?? You guys make this seem like I dont' neeed to study. I have been building computers since grade school and I know a lot of what I need to know about hardware and troubleshooting. But a lot of the crap in the book get real nit picky concerning the under layers of hardware. Do i need to know a lot about parity, when a processor was made, etc?

Cheers,

Bryan
