Default Anyone here have an Ionic air purifer?

I received an ionic air purifer for Christmas, seems like a good idea. I plugged it in yesterday and don't seem to have much of anything (hair, dirt, etc.) attached to the collection blades after about 15hrs or so. I know my apartment isn't that clean. So the question is, if you have one does it actually work or is this just some hocus pocus?

Thanks,
Warren

Some people swear by them but Consumer Reports says "no": http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7391185/

There're more details if you google the lawsuit.

If it's from Sharper Image, forget it. You'd be better off with a box of surgical masks.

No this one is an Ionic Pro full size model - www.ionicpro.com from Boscov's (Notheast based deptartment store, like a Macy's).

Return it, they are worthless IMO. Plus they seem to make the air smell funny. I always feel weird/sleepy while in a room with them.

Worthless POS. I'll rather order a set of "get rich quick" dvds instead.

I have tow Ionic Breezes from Sharper Image. It's amazing how much crap they take out of the air after a week.

apparently it works in picking up particles but it also creates ozone (O3) which is worse for you than the particles.

those gasses are easily countered by burning some styrofoam next to it
