Default Anyone here work for a bank, or understand bank stuff?? Please help????

Ok, I'm quite confused at the current moment. Today I ordered my intake online....i decided to go for a much less known brand just do to the fact that it is short ram, i kinda prefered that....weapon R Dragon short ram, 159.99 with free shipping. So this evening I go online to check my bank balance. My ledger balance ( before I ordered anything) was 484.53.....my available balance is 176.94. Now i bought only that one thing, and i'm sure that was all. I have not used that account for anything in the past few weeks so I am 100% sure that there are no other charges on it. I'm trying to understand why there has been 307.59 removed??...the thing online specifically says ledger balance 484.53 and available balance 176.94...i dont quite get it.....where did the other money go. The website i bought the intake from www.dragonautomotive.com seems like a no BS type of place. Not to mention the fact that I have still not recieved the email they are suppose to send me saying that my order was this and it will be shipped on so and so date. AHH can someone shed some light on this situation please?? And no I have not bought anything else with that account in a few months??

Have you recently deposited a check, transferred or auto deposited funds? Many times financial institutions will put a "hold" on funds that were recently deposited for 24 / 48 / 72 hours.

As well, some companies (like rental car companies) will put a "deposit hold" on your account (assuming you used a debit card), until the funds have cleared. But I'm guessing you haven't rented a car (from your post).

Best of luck.

Doesn't your online banking show the exact amount debited from your account, and where that money went to?

If the intake was $159.99 it'd say something like

www.dragonautomotive.com $159.99

I've run across situations where something is ordered and a "hold" is placed on funds (this is via a credit or debit card).

They either charged you twice, or did a "hold" then took the funds. The hold should clear up in a few days. If they charged you twice, then that's another whole matter.

Did you have any trouble with their online order system? Say if you got through the process 90% and had an error, then went back and retried the funds from the initial order error would be on hold for a period of time determined by your bank.

If your billing and delivery address didn't match and dragon's online checkout was set up to decline a mismatch, the declined transactions would go into hold status as noted above.

If either one of these is the case, have Dragon call your bank and instruct them to release the funds hold. As rworne said, the hold usually last 24-48 hours if no action is taken.
