Anyone know a good C++ book for beginners? Looking for a friend
I have a friend starting out in C++. I have Deitel and Deitel Third Edition, How to C++ Program, but I don't think it'll be good for him.
anyone else have any good recommendations? thanks.

I've been trudging through "C++ Primer Plus" by Stephen Prata, which has been pretty good. It assumes basic computer/programming knowledge, but moves at a pretty slow pace, good for a beginner.

You can always try those "Learn ___ in 21 days" books. I have one for XML, and it's not too bad.
I actually have the C Primer book by Prata and it's pretty good. I'll have to check out his C++ Primer book.
