Default Anyone know where to buy replica art?

Like title states, I have never bought art from the internet before, so if anyone knows where to buy some decent quality replica art I would appreciate that. It has to be reasonably priced as I am more concerned with the visual appeal and collecting as a hobby.

Are you looking for something like a poster or a painting reproduced on canvas?

Either would work, although I imagine the canvas would be more expensive. The poster would probably be better for now.

Here's what I would do:

Go to the mall and visit PrintsPlus (or some other store that sells reprints/posters)

Flip the poster over and see who makes it

Go online and Froogle it

You could try allposters.com or check ebay. There are tons of sellers on there selling replica prints for decent prices.

theres this printing technique called glicee. it's a high res print that can be done on canvas. up until you get really close you cant tell its a print, what i mean is that the print quality is so good that the print *looks* like it has brush strokes. when stretched and mounted correctly, it looks great. museums sometimes use glicee's in place of the real art because of this.

i picked up a HUGE (~40x35" framed) print of monet's garden at argenteuil on canvas for $200 and it looks pretty damn good.

you could also pick up a had painted reproduction, but trying to find one that is even remotely close to the original is tough, also you need to make sure they use quality oil and canvas or else the painting will fade & crack quickly. i found a place here in nyc who contracts art students to create repos and didnt purchase one because, a> they were really expensive b> they werent hand stretched, mounted or framed, and c> they werent exact. each painter seemed to have their own style, which translated in different brush stroke techniques from the original.
i may purchase one later from this place, but the nice ones go for over $1k for a medium sized repo.
