Anyone raced with WRX?
I've seen more and more WRX running on the street now and it actually grows in me. In Motor Trend, they tested it 5.6 sec 0-60 which is crazy fast for the money IMO.
I was going to sell my NSX for a Supra TT or new M3, but now I decide not to for some reason. However, I'm thinking selling my '97 Prelude SH for another new toy. It'll either be a used ITR or the new WRX.
Just wondering how fast is WRX in real life? Any of you raced with it?

I haven't raced a WRX, but I have driven one extensively. It is fast, it gets off the line quickly and the awd appeals to me since I'm in the Snow Belt. I'm considering one for my daily driver/family four-door, but I'm concerned about the early problems that are being reported
At a local Autocross two weeks ago I raced and beat pretty easily an experianced driver driving a new WRX. The surface was wet in the moring and started to dry off in the afternoon. I was on Khumo auto-x tires, I think he was on streets. I think that if the conditions had been dry all day the margin would have been even bigger.

We were both in class C
I like the WRX. The one I saw on that day just looked better and better as the day went on. It was a white WRX and after a day of racing through the puddles it really started to look like a rally car.

Yeah I have. Though not the brand new one (not the bug eyed one). The new one is slower than the model I raced as it carries extra 100kg and has exactly the same engine. Also, even though the new WRX is more 'civilized' than the prev model, the previous model was ultimately more sportier. Here's the link to my observations from running with the WRX:

Bottom line is up to about 140kph (87mph) the WRX is very matched with S2000 in the straighline. WRX has a lot more torque than the S2000 and at about 4k revs it has something like 60% more power while being the same weight (older model). Also, WRX launches like crazy ... though, not unlike the S2000 you need to drop the clutch from almost red-line to get a good launch. Though, with an 'idle' launch, the WRX has more pull than S2000 at lower revs.
So, if you do an agressive launch with both cars then it's about even until the WRX is doing 140km+, which is when it looses some of it's urgency as it shifts from 3rd to 4th and the 4th gear is pretty tall in the WRX (205kph/128mph).
