Default anyone see Beauty and the Beast.. the play

My wife was given tickets for Beauty and the Beast in Philadelphia for this friday. Have any of you seen it? And what is your review of it?

Charlie-

My wife and I saw it the day it opened in LA, on Thanksgiving, I can't tell you how long ago -- several years. It was just excellent. You'll really enjoy it. I don't think Mr. Pockets will be allowed in, though, even in costume.

Charlie - very good show, I personally liked it more than Lion King. Go into it as a kid with an open mind and you will enjoy it even more. Very funny and the choreography is excellent. I saw it years ago when it first opened in NYC.

Can you tell yet that I recommend it highly?

It's pretty hard to screw up Beauty and the Beast ... a tale as old as time ....

It was pretty good. It was a good date thing. Get dressed up, have a nice dinner, and see a great show. You and you're wife will have a good time.

I saw Lion King (the play) in LA last weekend.

It was okay, but I wish I didn't see the movie first. The storyline was EXACTLY the same, plus it took twice as long to tell. Plus, a lot of the jokes and songs were the same as in the movie! What's that about?

well we saw it last night and it was fun..... costumes were great so was the set.... and of course how could you screw up a tale as old as time. i cant get that damn song out of my head though "be our guest.. be our guest.. be our guest"

one major downer...... when the play was over and the cast comes out they took their 5 minute bows and then the beast/prince steps forward and asks for donations to the "Broadway Actors Aids Relief Fund"

with all the federal money spent on aids it was a turn off for me....... maybe b/c my wife suffers from a orphan disease where very little fed $ are spent. i feel this way b/c her disease was not brought on by her behaviour.......ok i'll stop talking now... it just pissed me off

Did they charge you $6 for a small cup of ice and 1/8th of a can of soda in it, like they do in NYC?

I have seen a total of 1 show in NYC, and it was beauty and the beast.... i even took the S2000 and let the hotel beat the shit out of for the night (that only cost me an extra $50 or so)
