Default Anyone seen or heard from airgate?

Hi all. I'm not sure if this forum is where this belongs but here's the story.

I recently traded my S in and sold a mess of parts here on the site. I also had one extra Mille Miglia HT3 that had a scratch around the inside from a caliper that decided to leave it's post one day. The wheel was perfect other than that, but I bought a new one anyways (I'm kinda picky like that), hence the extra one.

Well, I thought about selling it, but the only other car I had ever seen with these wheels was airgate's. So instead of trying to sell it, which I didn't think would ever happen, I offered it to airgate for a spare if he would just pay the shipping. He was very appreciative and was happy to pay.

I sent it out to him without having received the money because I figured he's good for it and he's an upstanding member of this community. Well, here we are after several PM's and a confirmation from UPS and him that the wheel got there ok, and no dough.

Look, it's not the money (it was only about $14) and I know the wheels aren't MF10's or anything. But I thought I was doing something really nice for a fellow member totally out of the blue and now I feel like a real putz. Maybe it's my fault for not being more cautious, but that's me, trusting and naive until I'm royally screwed (I can give you several ex-girlfriends' phone numbers who can attest to that, if you'd like ).

If something major has happened with airgate, please forgive me for this. And regardless of why, I don't mean for this to be mean spirited at all. Really I don't. My last PM attempt was last Monday and still nothing. So I'm just looking for a reason, that's all.

Thanks.
Phil.

I would trust Raul to the ends of the earth. Let alone for $14.00, I'm sure there was a hiccup somewhere and he will get back to you for it.

It was an extremely nice thing for you to do in the first place

I'm sure that he just left town for Turkey day or something of that nature.

I do want to believe that, and I haven't given up on a pleasant resolution just yet. But with the wheel getting there on 11/4, and first sporadic then total lack of communication, I'm puzzled.

Do you have his cell #? Have you tried him on that? Go back into some of the old Dragon threads about registering....I think it's in there.

Well...I gotta say...when a thread like this comes up about *ME*...well, damn...it's obvious that my priorities in s2ki.com land are not right. I can't bare to use the excuse "hey, I've been busy...at work." But it's the absolute truth! This was really nothing more than me not having a check ready to send out. Should I have had one? Yeah, absolutely. You sending me a near-perfect MilleMiglia HT3 rim was awesomely generous. I messed up...not sending your $$$ for the shipping right away. I'll own up to that in a second.

For what it's worth...the check was mailed the day before Thanksgiving...so you should have it tomorrow or by Wednesday...and I even had an apology letter written for you.

Afterall, I am very sorry about this and trust me, I'm the first to get angry that folks can be so ungrateful. Know that I *never* intended this to unfold this way. I sincerely apologize.

To the folks who defended me, THANK YOU...your words mean alot to me. I sincerely appreciate it.

Oh...and I am *NOT* upset about this thread...I'm really much more embarrased that this happened. Again, don't let this stop you from any future good deeds.

Thanks again!

-Raul

So I get home and there's the check on the kitchen table . If I would have waited just a little longer...

Now I really do feel like a putz. I hope you're not upset with me Raul. I guess I should have been a little more patient. But I believe the saying is all's well that ends well? That's definitely the case here.

Thanks everyone...and sorry.

Phil.
