Default Anyone Snowboard

Hey guys, just for a quick introduction, I've been snowboarding for quite a few years and seem to have it down pretty well. So anyway, last year my friend bought one of those new mini snowboards that are just like normal snowboards, just smaller. Anyway, this year he spent way too much money on a newer board and said he'll sell me the mini for about 70 bucks. He claims it's a blast for just doing some tricks and stuff in the terrain parks and I must say that it does look fun. Has anyone here ever tried these out or know someone who did? If so, please share. Thanks.

snowboarding and skiing are much like riding a motorcycle

fun, and easy to kill yourself

You've described a good chunk of worth-while hobbies out there. What's your point?

Are you talking about a snow-skate? I'd definitely try before you buy... doesn't look that fun and that $70 could go towards a real board, bindings, other gear, etc.

BTW, who does all snowboard here? Might be cool to get a snowboard thread going. I just started my season off with a day at Mt. Baker (in WA). I'm super stoked for the season!!

I've never ridden one, but from what I hear they are designed to help learn tricks, etc... It would be pretty fun to mess around on, but if you're planning on on buying it to use as your park board, I wouldn't recommend it... Nose slides/tail slides won't look as cool, weight distribution will be off, won't be as stable in landings, and I'm guessing it is almost impossible to do a nose press/tail press with it...

I personally would rather learn tricks on a regular park board, than learn them on this and then have to tweak spin/weight distribution when I switch back to a real board...

I haven't seen a single one being ridden out here that I can think of (and I usually ride 35-60 times a season), most people will probably think you're using your little brother's board

I love snowboarding. Haven't been in a couple of years though. I miss living 90 minutes from Tahoe.

Just you-tube'd a "mini snowboard" and I'd say not to buy it unless you've got money to burn just for sh!ts. With a board that short, I'd be really scared to hit a jump that required any speed.

I agree with YoZUpZ. Your boardslides will look pretty bunk with that short of a board. I'm not sure how you would press something like that. Also, once you step up to a normal sized board you won't be used to the length / weight. It could cause more hurt than fun.

If you want to learn some freestyle stuff, get a park board (usually shorter, symmetrical, and more flex) and learn with that.

You're still ninety minutes from ski resorts here, no excuses homey.
