Anyone traveled to Vietnam?
Vietnam is kick ass vacation spot. back when I just turned 17 I Traveled back with my Father to visit my grandmother for the first time. I stayed way down south it took us 4 hours from the airport and a 45 minute river ride in boat to get where she lived but apparently they built a road to there now........ but anyways my aunt made me kill/prep my own chicken for dinner, I ate snake,I rode dirt bikes anywhere I could, swam in rivers, got attacked by leeches, gambled on cock fights, got wasted off some homemade moonshine type liquor with my uncles, woke up to animals making there noises, had the best coffee ever, packs of cigarettes were about $2.00..... I could go on and on about what I did there...I was born in Chicago. my Vietnamese is sparse, I spoke a lot of English with my cousin and he would translate if I didn't know how to phrase something..... but if you don't feel safe, go see if a local will sell you a knife or machete. i had a knife on me at all times and my cousin had a machete w/ sheath. all-in-all it was an amazing experience I hope you have a fun and amazing trip.

A machete? Don't listen to him; obviously, he ain't right in the head. If the police found you with a weapon over there, they will not only confiscate it, but take you in. Imo, American streets are much more dangerous than Vietnamese streets, in terms of violence and such.

A machete lol .....
Summer is a real bad time. It's pretty hot and the monsoon season comes in as well. I haven't been back in ages, so I'm sure it's changed quite a bit since I was there. I'm also looking to go back hopefully sometime soon.

Dude, VN is a very strict communist country, it's not like it's violent like somewhere in Africa or something. Hell, the crime rates there are MUCH LOWER than those of the U.S. and other nations. Murders there are like once in a full moon. Most deaths are only related to traffic/transportation.
