Anyone want to shed some light on this?

Default Anyone want to shed some light on this?

Today in a parking lot I saw a base Porsche Boxster with a license plate that simply said:

"BMW-M6"

WTF??? What is this supposed to mean? My other car is a fictional M6? A one-man petition for BMW to bring the M6 sooner? The driver is totally bonkers? I half wanted to wait for the driver to come out of the store so I could ask them....why?

Just to be weird and invoke these reactions?

That's the only thing I can come up with....Hmm....

I think I'll go with this explanation!

When is the M6 due for arrival? Wouldn't it make sense to put the plate in your closet until it arrived?

These ordered vanity plates MUST be designated for a vehicle and can't be held for other purposes.
I see. Of course I haven't broached the subject of why you would get something so unorginal for a personalized plate. Just my opinion, but I wouldn't get plates for myself that just said "S2000" or something. What's the point?

I have a personal plate, but am going to lose it because I don't have a vehicle to transfer it to and anyone can pick it up to use. It was on my pickup truck that I don't have anymore. I can transfer it to another vehicle but don't have one to put it on yet. It expires on my birthday (Sunday) and I cannot hold on to it without registering it on a vehicle. I used it for my business it said RENOV8.
