Apologize for something that was 15 years ago?

Who did you piss off 15 years ago, Scot, and why do you want to make it right now?
It would just be nice for "my friend" to be sincere and try to set things straight, especially now that "my friend" sees these people once in a while..... Out of sight out of mind for the past 15 years basically.
If it was just words I'd say 15 years was enough to let go. Granted, if it was words at their significant other's funeral, maybe not.
If we're not talking physical harm or getting to know their wife/sister/mother in the biblical sense, let it go.
Either they've already forgiven you, already forgotten, or neither one, and if the third option you saying sorry isn't going to make it ok. Someone carrying a grudge for a decade and a half is going to need more than a "so...um...sorry 'bout that" for the grudge to disolve.
Let it go, or move.
Or throw shit at their house, then apologize for that.

If they still have a grudge towards you...I mean your "friend" saying stupid s**t while drunk after 15 years, then they are dicks. Your "friend" should get real drunk and say the meanest, rudest, most evil things to the person. That'll straighten them up. I mean hell they were just words, it's not like you banged their mom while kicking their dog or anything (or maybe you did?!?)
