Default Apparently that anime stuff is real.

from Gizmodo

In anime and action films there is often a stand-off between the old and new, the traditional and the modern - the katana sword and the handgun. Often, a sword-wielding hero is able to slice an oncoming bullet in two, deftly rendering the anti-hero's graceless weapon useless. Ever wondered if this was really possible? Watch the video after the jump.

So, it turns out that a katana actually can cut a bullet in half. It also stands up fairly well against a .50 machine gun, for a little while, as you can see in the second video below. MythBusters, eat your heart out.

Thicker, sharper peice of metal vs thinner, duller peice of metal. It is a real cool video but also believable if you just think about it a little. The thing is, who's gonna have the precision and/or luck to do that?

It's not that we don't believe a katana cannot cut through a bullet. It's simply that's not a human work. lol. Myth remains myth.

precisely. I've seen the video before and it's very cool that it withstands as many shots from the .50. It shows some true craftmanship of the sword. BUT...it isnt that the sword can do it, it's that the human wielding the sword can.
