Default appropriate gift $ amount...

for this holiday season
i'm trying to show a small appriciation for
the people who work at my condo/ apt. building.
i want to do "$ with card" kinda deal,
but obviously i don't want to give them too much or be too cheap.
so how much do you guy think is appropriate amount,
if it's from a guy who's in mid- 20's, 3rd year in his first professional job,
5th year in the same building?

000.000 This world is getting into tipping just too much, all these so called experts telling us how much is an appropriate tip for jobs people are paid to do. If the staff at the condos do their jobs they should get a bonus from their boss, if not they get paid an appropriate wage for the job they do.

I agree though, don't give them crap if they don't do their job well.

He was going farther than that. They don't deserve a gift just for doing thier job, unless it's from their boss. If they go above and beyond for you very often, then that would be a different story, but still purely up to you.
I hate those lists that tell how much you should tip doormen, hairdressers, etc.

If anyone hooks me up big throughout the year, I will definitely say "thanks" with a decent tip or more often than not, gift certificates to local restaurants.
