Is it appropriate to use an image of Hitler in your sig?

I was all set for a serious response to your Hitler statement above and then I read this and cracked up and forgot what I was going to say!
I have ran into such sittuation early days of my line on s2ki.com. I have posted a Chinese flag pic in my sig and someone started posting a thread complaing of my sig. The pic was not linked to any site or such just simply a representation of me....a 100% pure Chinese immigrant. Back then many was pointing fingers and telling me I shouldnt put that pic in my sig because this is a US site. I did not agree with them but now I see this thread, people's view have changed alot compares to my sittuation. Is that something simliar or complete different case?

Good debate.
I don't really know if wicky's sig was inappropriate, but I understand why people would get offended. Those of us that know wicky here are usually just as politically incorrect as he is, so perhaps we're not good judges.
Ultimately, this site is paid for privately by the owners, sponsors, and administrators. So, it's in our eyes (and our eyes only) that matter. If this were a public school or a government building, I'd have much stronger opinions on the subject.
For now, I say "keep on pushin' the envelope," wick!!

I suppose you are correct, although Alexander would be a good pic, considering he actually ruled over a much larger population than even hitler did......

I would post a pic of myself, but I was denied those privileges when S2ki enacted the new membership rules.

I thought that was just between you and me Rufio. I'm in therapy as we speak, and am attending a group help session every Wednesday night. I am trying.

, but not for the reasons you may think. If it were a public school or government building I would give even GREATER latitude to such things in hopes of broadening understanding. I'm not one to pander to special interests and be overly PC when the reality is that the world is sometimes ugly and not always fair. The idea of an image of Hitler being associated with that site is patently offensive...and SHOULD be. Not to say that it can't be funny (I personally think this instance was), but it should still be offensive.
We shouldn't NOT do something because someone might be offended, but we also shouldn't go out of our way just to offend. I don't think wicky went out of his way to offend anyone other than Mussolini the Moderator on the other site and that was not an unprovoked act. Was it reasonable inferred that he was referring to the entire board? Maybe initially. However, as was stated before, a simple PM to wicky straightened it out and gave perspective to the issue.
The key here is communication. Sometimes an image can be a very emotional and inflamatory thing, but as long as the channels of communication are open then you have an avenue through which to learn more. If a person chooses NOT to learn more that is their responsibility and their choice.
I'm with Charlie on this one. I was one of the lost
's in question, wandering my jerk ass to my350z.com as well. I was not banned, (NA NANA NA BOO BOO
) but probably should have been. Either way, I agree: my350z's administrator did not handle the situation as maturely as he could have. He deleted our threads and posts (many of which were 100% legit) without first notifying us. He gave no warning before taking action. A simple PM would have sent us all back to S2ki. Instead, he jumped right on and threatened to ban us all if we didn't leave immediately. "I don't put up with this crap (whoreing) here."
As for whether or not wickster's sig pic is offensive - I could easily see how it could be taken as such. References to Hitler, in and of themselves, are to a point already offensive. But do I also find it hilarious? Yes.
I'm not here to argue whether or not it is appropriate, though. That's for the mods to decide.
