Aunt Agatha, the Thug
For many years I've enjoyed reading the works of P. G. Wodehouse (pronounced "wood-house"). Several of the stories about his most famous characters--Jeeves and Wooster--were made into a British television series. They've recently come out on DVD, and my wife kindly got me the first season's five episodes as a Valentine's Day gift. I highly recommend them.
Bertie Wooster is a dim-witted English gentleman in the early 20th century; Jeeves is his brilliant valet. Bertie has a number of aunts, including aunt Agatha, the one who--by Bertie's description--chews broken glass and kills rats with her teeth. Here's a sample from one story:
Lady Malvern was a hearty, happy, healthy, overpowering sort of dashed female, not so very tall but making up for it by measuring about six feet from the O. P. to the Prompt Side. She fitted into my biggest arm-chair as if it had been build round her by someone who knew they were wearing arm-chairs tight about the hips that season. She had bright, bulging eyes and a lot of yellow hair, and when she spoke she showed about fifty-seven front teeth.
If you have the right sort of sense of humor, get the books--there are dozens--or get the DVDs.
