Avocent Outlook 180ES KVM -- question.
Ok, this is driving me nuts.
When I got the KVM, I hooked it up to my computers. Plug-n-play monitor comes up in the device manager and I can set the refresh rate to something higher than 60hz. Over the weekend, I turn the computers off and shutdown the KVM.
Monday, I turn on everything in the proper order. Monitor, KVM, computers. But now, the computers can't seem to send anything higher than 60hz refresh to the monitor. It's as if the KVM is blocking a refresh rate higher than 60hz!!! (Windows shows I'm set to 75hz - but there is still filcker and my monitor's "view meter" says it's receiving a 60hz refresh). NOTHING CONFIGURATION WISE HAS CHANGED! I simply turned everything off and then back on.
If I connect the computer(s) directly to the monitor, kybd, mouse, everything is good. I can change refresh rates, etc.
I recently got the Outlook 180ES (and replaced my Belkin)because it is supposed to be Microsoft DDC compliant and works with plug-n-play monitors... It worked for 2 weeks, before I turned off the stuff.
HELP!

I've had problems with this in the past but it is fixed by letting the computer boot with the monitor selected for each computer. If windows does not sense a monitor attached during the boot process it appears to default to 60hz (at least on my servers). Try selecting a computer and let it boot to the login screen before switching to another computer.
I also have an avocent that has problems if you try to "reboot" it but don't disconnect it from the video source. The kvm appears to grab some power from the cables so a reset does not function properly if the cables are connected to computers.
Hope that helps!

I've tried that 1st part you mentioned - letting the computer boot up while selected for it in the KVM. But it didn't make any difference - still 60hz.
I'm going to update the firmware on it. If that still doesn't work, I have to go back to the old way and dig out all my monitors and keyboards/mice.
