Thanks.

Note: it's "magician": small "m". Not a name or a title; an avocation.

Lance Burton is a Magician. Johnny Thompson is a Magician. Jeff McBride, Eugene Burger, Whit Haydn, and Andrew Goldenhersh are Magicians.

I'm a magician.

Well, the surgery went well today. The anaesthesia's starting to wear off, and it hurts primarily on the outside of my thigh where the incision was made. Other than that, the lousy, metallic taste in my mouth, and the occasional reminder that I have to move my knee very slowly, I'm doing really well.

Just do the rehab religiously, Bill. It'll make all the difference.

After my hip replacement surgery, I did my rehab every day, without fail, even when I really didn't to do it. It made a great difference with my recovery time. Good luck with your recovery!

Happy to hear it went well Bill. Rehab, rehab, rehab, rarely fun but it works.

Interesting coincidence: I was thinking about asking you the same thing.

I'd say that great minds think alike, but, as the lawyers might say, that assumes facts not in evidence.

Well, less than six weeks after surgery, I was back riding Khaleel and Valentine today.

I started physical therapy three weeks ago, and the therapist said that I'm well ahead of schedule in strength and flexibility, though there's some persistent swelling that nothing seems to diminish.

Anyway, the doctor said it would be six weeks after surgery before I could ride again (that'll be tomorrow), but last Friday the therapist said that I'm cleared to ride. The weather's been lousy, but today it wasn't raining, so I took each of them out for about 45 minutes, with no problems. Still taking it easy - no trotting or cantering, no posting or two-point - but at least I'm back in the saddle.

Yippee!
