Is it true, perhaps just a Chinese legend, that if you pick your naval long enough, you'll get severe stomach aches? Curious?

 

just dont go past your first knuckle and you should be fine.

I agree with both of those statements

 

i've picked my belly button on a few occassion when i was a kid (mainly out of boredom) and yeah, you eventually get a severe belly ache. not a good feeling at all...

 

Or as Bill Cosby once said: Don't pick at your bellybutton you might break it and fly around the room backwards for 30 seconds and all that will be left of you is a flat body with just the eyes sticking out.

Or something like that, it was a long time ago on one of his albums.

I think I just got a dry heave thinking about that.

 

I knew a girl who was a chronic navel picker... well she apparently had a lot of the nasties in there and was constantly picking it out or using a q-tip to dig it out. What she didn't realize was that she was pushing the stuff further in and packing it down.

I think she eventually had to get surgery to remove it.
