Default Bad week (rant)

Too set the scene, I'm still living in London for the next month or so....

Here's the short and sweet... I fell on Friday night (slipped) and hurt my right arm. Waited until Sunday afternoon until I decided to go for help (thought it was a sprain). Went to 2 clinics that ultimately referred me to a hospital over by Parliament. Started at 9am, got to the hospital at 2pm. They x-rayed me. Broke both the tibia and fibula by the wrist. The admitted me as they needed to do some surgery to reset the bones. Didn't get to me on Sunday, so I went home. Came back at 7am the next day... no food/drink since 12am. 8pm rolls around and they finally tell me that they can't do my surgery, so I went home. Came back at 7am the next day... no food/drink since 12am. 6pm rolls around, they finally get to me. They take me off, knock me out, put 2 pins in by arm, cast me, roll me back. Some desperate bastard stole my $600 prescription Gucci glasses! To add insult to injury, I was starved and they didn't have any food! (@24 hours with no food) I stayed overnight, didn't sleep because the ward I was in is where they bring all the drunken vagrants. Crying, screaming, spewing and snoring. I wait until 3pm on Wed afternoon until the doctors release me. Get home, pass out.

I'm not terribly pleased with the NHS. Great idea, shite in practice

That about covers it. I have to go buy new glasses as the hospital does not cover personal property loss. I was going to Barcelona for Microsoft Tech-ED next week, but I have two doctor's appointments so that's out.

Worst part is, I come home in about 4 weeks and I'll have this damn cast on when I get back. No Stook for me for at least 2 weeks.

Bad week

Hey welcome to Engalnd. Yeah the NHS does have it's problems but at least no-one wants to see your plastic before they treat you I really object to the drunken vagrants bit. I thought I was quite well behaved And if that's the $600 dollar specs in your Avatar. you paid too much for 'em.

Hey just kidding hope you're O.K. Shame you're so far away we could get together for a few jars.Come on somebody in London help this guy out.. take him for a few jars.... get him laid.. he's hurtin'

Actually, being an American citizen, I had to provide my medical insurance before they would treat me

Hey Zoinks, did you break your leg or your arm. The tibia and fibula are in your leg - the equivalent arm bones are the ulna and the radius!

LOL

I actually love London. The people here have been very friendly and I've made many friends. I just don't want to break anything else

Stafford is a beautiful city, I'm sure your son will continue to love it.
