I bartended during my undergraduate years of the local bar at my university and made about $50-$75 on weeknights and around $150-$250 on weekends when it was packed. But the tips depend on a number of factors.

1) Patrons-If you work at a college bar versus an upscale nightclub in a big city

2) Work hours - If you work on Friday and Saturday night you obviously make more then double or triple you would on a weeknight. Plus you if bartend during the day versus at night.

3) Number of bartenders at your bar. We sometime had 3 bartenders at our bar so you only make a portion of what you could by yourself.

4) Alcohol content of the drinks. This worked for me because I knew the people coming in. If they were regulars I would make there drinks real tasty and strong because I knew they wanted to get hammered. But if they were new kids in my bar I would make them weaker because that way they would buy more to get drunk. It was a quetionable practice but it worked for me.
