Last night I walked out the front door at home to get some things from the van and heard some very loud squeeks over the house. I looked up and saw two large gray bats flying over the house and down the street. I'd estimate their wingspan at 12" - 14". I called my wife and daughter to some see them but by the time they were outside the bats were pretty far down the street; too far to see them but we could still hear them squeeking.

Bats are pretty interesting animals, but they're the greatest cause of rabies in people, so be careful around them. Their teeth can be so small that you may not even notice if one bites you.
