I do dry rub for chicken (cumin, smoke paprika, garlic powder, black pepper and kosher salt), cook it till 90% done. Then dip breasts in bowl of home made BBQ sauce, place it on grill again for remaining 10% (2-3 mins) on direct high heat. Once done, give it another dunk in new sauce (avoiding salmonella) and let rest 5 mins.

For BBQ sauce, I am a big fan of Cattleman's Original. Love it!

Try mail ordering the Tunnel Bar-B-Q seasoned salt and their regular barbecue sauce. It is unlike any other one that I have had and I am completely addicted to it. Just don't put the sauce on until the chicken has finished cooking, and leave the bird on the grill just long enough for the sauce to heat through and dry a bit before serving.

Uncle Stubb's Hot is one awesome sauce. Don't baste in sauce till at least 60% cooked though; sauce will turn gross if you do.

Here is South Louisiana I've had one called Grandma Rena's. I can't find it anymore; only the small stores carried it. That was hands-down my favorite.

hmm now you guys talking about cooking it with some dry spices (rub) before dipping it in the bbq sauce towards the end have me contemplating doing that tonight.

I ended up just buying some Jack Daniels "Honey Smokehouse" sauce since I friggin love it but I'm thinking a good rub with be very nice to cook with before putting the sauce on towards the end just to get it heated and sticky so that it sticks to the chicken better

Smith & Wollensky is the best BBQ sauce I've ever tasted. 8D likes it, too. I just took delivery on a three pack:
