beanie babies are junk --
Ah, but to some people . . . .
My wife worked with a gentleman whose son worked in a toy store. He used to buy all sorts of action figures with his employee discount; his dad thought this was the stupidest thing he'd seen. Until, that is, his son sold some small portion of his collection and used the money to buy his first pickup truck.

My mom got sucked in these stupid things. As usual she listened to people with know idea on anything about collecting. She went to Mac Donalds all over town buying up Happy Meals even though it's cheaper to just buy one without the stupid happy meal. She would call and call me to buy some at the Micky Dees near my house. I told her over and over "no this is a fad" but she kept going on about how her "friends" told her I can make good money. Now she is telling me I should "sell golf balls I find on e-bay" since I live on a golf course. I asked her how do you make good money selling used golf balls on the internet? I guess she forgets I make six figures a year investing in real estate. I guess moms will be moms. At least she does the Barbie thing now days and those dolls have a history.
