Pyramid is from Kalama, WA. Local my ass.

Drink Bear Republic or 21A.
WTF are you talking about? The brewery is 10 minutes from my house. There are several locations here in Northern California thus making them local.

Love this stuff!! I drink it every time I come to Kansas on business. Also love the Free State Brewery beer in Lawrence.

Founded in Kalama. I went to the Seattle brewery years before they opened the one in Berkeley. Local my ass. It's like buying an Accord and saying you're buying American. . . you are. . . to a point.

Even then, aside from their DPA, Pyramid is mediocre. American style hef is an atrocity anyway: German style (unfiltered) is the freakin' shiz. . .

Drink Anchor, 21A, Bear Republic, or Lagunitas if you're going to "drink local." Or, if you're down in the South Bay, try El Toro.
woah.... you all are taking your knowledge of beer seriously... I like it

Anchor is awful. I can barely stand it. Subpar beer at best.

A good Hef is Hacker Pschorr. A little challenging to find out here but Bev Mo typically has it.

Two of the best semi mass produced micro breweries in my opinion are the Kona Brewing Company and the New Glarus Brewery.

I have a Dog Fish Head 120 sitting in the fridge right now; it probably will for another 8 years.

Anchor is steam beer. It's an acquired taste: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steam_beer
(read: there's a reason you don't like it, and it's endemic to the style) Their porter and Christmas ales are bonkers, but I love 'em.

Next time Hacker Pschorr is on tap at Teske's, the first two liters are on me. Yes, that's the kind of Hef I'm talking about, although Schneider Weisse is my favorite.

Kona is alright. Their draft-only stuff is quite good.

I'm overdue for a trip to the WA cask ale festival again. . .

Aging beer is cool shit. I've got Stone vertical '06-'08 (missed the couple of years - d'oh!) in with my wine.

Speaking of casks. The Firestone Double Barrel Ale is fantastic. Definitely not for the weak taste buds. Brewed down in Paso Robles.
