W T F. I understand theyre mad that some prisoners were stripped naked and put in embarassing positions or what not, but that sure as hell does not outweigh the fact that they executed someone and posted it up to the public.

Another person's actions doesn't justify your own. They're both horrendous acts, one worse than the other. We really don't know exactly what is going on in Iraq, we can only use our best judgment from what we see on various media outlets. I think the best thing at this volatile stage is for America to leave Iraq, I think that's what everyone over there wants. It's really tragic what happened, I can't believe people are capable of doing what they do.

It's so convenient that this story manifested itself right in the midst of the Iraqi photos.

I love the way our establishment media works and how many people actually believe them.

Honestly, I'd rather be beheaded and die quickly than have battery acid poured all over my genitals before I was beaten, sodomized with a broomstick, and then had a dog let loose on me. Or you could have been one of the small Iraqi boys or female prisoners that were raped.

That's been my question the entire day.

All of the joke networks(CNN, Fox News, etc.) keep pumping this every second but they never seem to reveal the website where the video can be attained. I like how they decide for us that "most Americans don't want to see the footage" and play dictators with news that is supposed to be "The Big Story" of the day. This reflects exactly the problems I have with the overwhelming amount of ignorant Americans supporting this oil brigade. They don't want to see bloody images and people killed but they want someone else to do it for them. Same principle for why there aren't more vegetarians in this country. If you had to kill and clean your own meat most people would opt not to do so.

I love the "double think" that pervades our society and keeps us from evolving.

if you look in the Yahoo! forum boards of this story there is a link to it. Quite disturbing.

They're savages. I'm sure they were going to do it anyway but this gave them an excuse to. If we leave Iraq now EVO all hell breaks loose. Each faction trying to fight each other to gain power etc. This will take time. You never hear the good things coming out of Iraq performed by our soldiers from the media for some reason.
Its crazy how there is a double standard, they do shit to our prisoners etc and that is normal. The actions by a few troops are unexcusable but they will be punished. Face it though, this is WAR. When your getting shot at, your buddies get wounded or killed, your doing 18 hour work days, where is all this unimaginable stress going to go to? We are not a perfect society, just look at the violence in this country with rapes murders etc. I guess I'm just tired of the media whooping this all up. I don't watch that much TV but when I do turn on the TV its always something about the prisoners. Its like we already know these abuses went on and will be punished but its getting old now since this is talked about 24/7.
Maybe R can chime in on this since he served over there.

It's not only a few troops seen on TV silver, Red Cross says that torturing and innapropriate behaviour has been prevalent throughout their annual inspections.

I saw a brief by a Republican Leader saying something to the effect of, He doesn't denounce the torturing of those Iraqi soldiers because they have American blood on their hands, and are murderers and tyrants..

I couldn't help but think, you can say the exact same thing for American soldiers, so there is a double standard in that regard as well...

I think that they must leave ASAP because all hell has already broken loose, can it really get any worse? I don't like the idea of American democracy in Iraq, I think America must exit, and leave the Iraqi's to decide their own future.

America has enough problems on the homefront, maybe they should try to resolve their issues first.

The english speaking Al-Jeezera webpage has a lot of pics and footage that CNN, yahoo, msnbc...etc won't carry.

i always try to see both sides so this Arab version of CNN has been a must read for me since Iraq war began. Very anti-american though. I try to look at it objectively.
