Default Is Being Upside Down / Blood To Head Good For You?

So I'm passing by this ortho furniture store and they're selling this bed which allows you to strap yourself in and tilt your legs abover your head! The salesperson swears that the blood flowing to your brain is healthy and has changed his life! He said each night he lies there upside down for lilke 5 mins and never more. He says he feels refreshed??? Can anybody shine some light on this topic???

actually, this should be your answer. Salesperson=person selling something=lying thru his teeth.

As a guy that's been in the mattress industry all my life... I'd have to say this sounds silly.

Think about it... you have a hard on for a while, you get blue balls. What happens if you have a bunch of blood stuck in your head for a while? You get a headache.

i know there are yoga poses that have you upside down (think headstand). one yoga instructor said that it's good for your thyroid. so maybe there is some truth to having health benefits.

I have a back machine that straps in your ancles and you hang completely upside down. But they say nothing about health benefits for your head.. It's simply to streth out your back muscles. In fact if you are there for more than a minute your head really hurts. But this is extreme, completely upside down.

I wouldn't buy it.

This was the only benfit I could see. I know lying with your feet elevated reduces strain on and relaxes your back, hips, and neck. I can't imagine doing it for a long period of time, though.
