best genre of music
the majority of you guys listen to hard rock... ? metallica? rammstein? haha... i thought this was an s2000 forum, not a camaro forum.
i love the deftones though. be quiet and drive, my own summer, passenger... best driving songs ever. the deftones have been one of my favorite bands for years and years. they're the only "hard rock" i'll listen to. their music just seems a lot more cohesive than any of that other crap. it actually sounds like MUSIC, not just screaming and loud guitars.
other than that... i like dance / techno. tiesto, kaskade, armin van buuren, paul oakenfold. i like stuff with female vocals mostly.
MOST OF THE TIME, i listen to rap / hip-hop. the only thing that isn't stock about my car right now is my stereo. i
my bumpity-bumps. right now i like "gettin head" -dynasty, "shake that monkey" -too $hort, and "vans" -the pack. i don't think rap is great quality music most of the time, but it's the most fun to listen to and puts me in a good mood.

electronic
sasha - global underground 13 - ibiza, involver
oakenfold - perfecto presents another world
tiesto - in search of sunrise, nyana (disc 2)
danny howells - gu27 - miami

My favorite cruising disc is probably Counting Crows, "This Desert Life." Good for that ~85mph freeway cruise.
But, the best musical "moments" I've had driving have actually been with some classical tunes:
Twisties: J.S. Bach: Art of The Fugue, also Suites for Unaccompanied Violin
Freeway Bangin': Rimsky-Korsakov: Russian Easter Overature
Long drive in the Central Valley: Dvorak's 9th Symphony
That said, if I just wanna get "keyed up," I'll pop in "Underworld: 1992-2002."

Speaking of moments.. I was driving through a twisty road one night, trees lining the roadway, and overhanging the tarmac. It was warm, top down, my lights were glowing off the tops of the trees and Only Time by Enya was blaring on the stereo.. it was one of the most magical moments I ever had.
I felt like I was the only person in the world, so calming, so mellow, so...words can't describe it.
I've tried to recreate that moment, and I just cant.
I'll be 80 ( if I'm lucky ) and still remember that night like it was yesterday.
